BREVES du 4.9.2000
Une compil pour David Sylvian ex Japan.
Information du site officiel :
You've probably been hearing rumours about Everything and Nothing, but
here's the full story. A year on from the release of the acclaimed
'Dead Bees on a Cake' David has decided to release a retrospective of
his work as a songwriter.
But 'Everything and Nothing' isn't like other artists' "Best Ofs"; how
could it be? Instead, this 2CD compilation serves more as a statement
about the current state of Sylvian's art than as a compilation of hits.
The album is full of rarities, including outtakes from the 'Dead Bees'
and 'Secrets of the Beehive' sessions, and the legendary lost Japan
track 'Some Kind of Fool'; all material has been remastered at 24 bit
rate while most of the pre-84 vocals have been re-recorded. Several
tracks have also been remixed.
The album is due for release on October 9th.
As a special bonus, on a strictly limited basis, the initial pressing
of the album will also include a four track CD, featuring the
following tracks: 'Scent of Magnolia' (a Dead Bees outtake); the
previously unreleased studio recording of the Sylvian/Fripp track 'The
Blinding Light Of Heaven', 'Scent of Magnolia' (Portobello Mix) and a
2000 version of the classic 'Brilliant Trees'. The limited edition
version of the set will be pressed as gold CDs and presented in a
special fold out digi-pack designed by Russell Mills.
Meanwhile, The radio edit of 'Magnolia' will be available as a promo
download from September 11th.
On Wednesday September 30th, David will be appearing live on the Web
in a special Eden video interview with distinguished writer and
broadcaster Robert Sandall. You can submit your questions for David on
his site, where you will also find a full and detailed tracklisting of
'Everything and Nothing'.
