Globe award pour Lisa Gerrard Ex-Dead Can Dance
Information de Side Line:
Globe award for Lisa Gerrard
Lisa Gerrard and composer Hans Zimmer have won the award for the Best
Original Score in the Motion Picture category at the 58th Annual Golden
Globe Awards on Sunday. Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard, formerly of Dead
Can Dance, took home the honours for their score to "Gladiator". In her
thank-you-word, Lisa Gerrard, who has joined an ultra religious movement,
said, "God is the author of miracles and you have no idea how many
miracles it took to keep me in that movie." Gerrard apparently didn't
want to work on the film at first.

Camouflage refait surface !
Information de Side Line:
Good news from the Camouflage camp. The german band is to relaunch its new
official website on january 2001, until this time
you can download a exclusive MP3 of "They Catch Secrets" recorded live in
Munich in 1989. Concrete news about the band should
be available soon. In a posting on a fan messageboard, the band's Marcus
Meyn reports he's at the moment writing new
material, to be produced in February 2001 in England. In further
Camouflage related news a new "Best Of" including songs from
"Spice Crackers" is coming up. The first "Best Of" was made without the
band and since Polygram/Universal is the owner of the
rights for the first 4 records, they decided just using that material,
thus leaving songs from "Spice Crackers" out of the
compilation.

Le dernier Album de Simple Minds ne sera pas edite par EMI.
Information de Side Line:
EMI is refusing to release Simple Minds' new album "Our Secrets Are The
Same", sparking a legal dispute. Jim Kerr, frontman of the band which sold
30 million albums in the '80s, said that after the poor promotion and
marketing of "Néapolis", the band wanted the best for "Our Secrets Are The
Same", but didn't find any enthusiasm or leadership from the label. "Had
there been enthusiasm the record would have come out but EMI weren't very
enthusiastic about putting it out," said Kerr. The band, who signed a
two-album deal with the record company, are now locked in a legal battle
with EMI.
